In “Number Bonds” children are introduced to the concept of math addition.
This game in our Play School App introduces children to addition.
In the first level, children count to 5. They are presented with a song and story and then the concept they have to master, which in this case is learning addition to 5. So, 1+4 makes 5 and 2+3 is 5. These are represented both through dots and numerals.
In the practice session, children are shown the final number, i.e “5” as a combination of one “seen” number and the other “invisible” number. Children have to guess what the missing number is that makes up a total of 5. Children are encouraged to practice before attempting game play.
The same process is used in the next two levels, adding to 10 and 20. Children learn that both 10 and 20 can be arrived at through several combinations of numbers.
In the play stage, they go up against the timer and are asked to complete additions within a specified time. Once they can complete the levels they will be awarded their addition badge!
